Universal Technical Institute

The Universal Technical Institute (UTI) prides itself in providing tomorrow's auto mechanics with a comprehensive technician education that will prepare them for an exciting career future in a dynamic industry.

The new generation of auto mechanics is as skilled with computer technology as they are with traditional tools and equipment.? UTI aims to train future professionals to deal with the complex technologies employed in today's vehicles.

Students at UTI will acquire the fundamental skills employers demand, as well as expertise in high tech components and systems.

Automotive Technology Training Program

The days of grease monkey mechanics at the local garage are long passed. Modern cars are highly complex machines operated by sophisticated computer systems. The people who maintain and repair those cars are well paid automotive technicians, not car mechanics.
UTI's Automotive Technology program provides the knowledge and skills student's need to become a successful entry-level automotive technician. Students learn how to diagnose, service, and repair both domestic and foreign cars. They also learn how to troubleshoot problems using the latest equipment.
Students can expect the following from UTI:

* Industry Standard facilities at nine great campuses
* Hands-on training
* Dedicated, experienced instructors
* NATEF / ASE certified programs
* Strong industry connections
* Snap-On tool kit for graduates
* Strong student support systems

Another important area of expertise available to UTI students is knowledge of how to build high-performance engines. They also acquire essential business skills that ensure their careers are long and successful ones.

Depending on where you choose to study, you can also add manufacturer specific training that will give you a competitive edge in the labor market.

These include:

* BMW FastTrack
* Ford Accelerated Credential Training (FACT)
* Nissan Advanced Technician Training (NATT)
* Toyota Professional Automotive Training

Program Duration:

Automotive programs can be completed in as little as a year, although programs incorporating manufacturer-specific training take a little longer.

The core Automotive Technology Program can be completed in 51 weeks. Combined with BMW FastTrack, this time increases to 63 weeks; with Ford FACT the duration is 66 weeks; and with Nissan NATT or Toyota TPAT, 60 weeks. UTI also partners with the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing to create the first ever NASCAR school, the NASCAR Technical Institute.
